FREE MUSICAL | BRING A PICNIC!

Pack your picnic and blanket and join us on the lawn! Summer in Jackson wouldn't be complete without a memorable night of free, outdoor Thin Air Shakespeare.

In 2026, this beloved Jackson tradition is getting a little twist — Off Square Theatre will be presenting the first Thin Air Shakespeare MUSICAL!

Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that pesky Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.

With direction by Kate Gleason, music direction by Kenji Harada, and choreography by Ben Roeling, Something Rotten! is sure to be a highlight of the summer. Off Square Theatre is overjoyed to bring a toe-tapping professional musical to our community in the spirit of Thin Air Shakespeare – accessible and completely free! The production will also features a live band of renaissance musicians.

Enjoyable for audiences of all ages, with some bawdy Renaissance humor and innuendo.

Special thanks to producing partner, Center for the Arts, for their support and collaboration.

Join us for The Midsummer Night's Picnic, on July 9, to support Free Thin Air Shakespeare in Jackson Hole. This festive evening features a cocktail hour, drinks, appetizers, picnic dinner, and an exclusive viewing of the final dress rehearsal of 'Something Rotten!'. More information at the link below.

Run time approximately 120 minutes with a 10 minute intermission.

Please contact info@offsquare.org to request accommodation details.
