FEBRUARY 24 | 6:30pm

FEBRUARY 25 | 1:30pm & 6:30pm

Join Off Square Theatre for their 2023 Youth Musical, where Jackson’s youth star on the main stage!

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

Run time approximately 120 minutes with a 10 minute intermission.

Costume Designer

Dena DeMarco

Dena DeMarco (she/her) This is my 5th time costuming the OSTC Youth Musical Production. The “Sound of Music” - so iconic! The movie came out when I was a baby and now many, many, many years later … I am tasked with trying to bring you to the Austrian alps in the late 1930s. I had fun with some of the designs - injecting bright colors and bold patterns for an eye-pop on stage. Keep in mind that trying to find or recreate clothing that was in fashion over 80 years ago is a somewhat daunting task. Thank you OSTC for another fun opportunity! Enjoy the show!

Molly is delighted to have found such a brilliant theatre family in Off Square and can’t wait to see these talented and dedicated kids perform the Sound of Music!
