Saturday, March 14 | 10am | The Center Commons

Join Off Square Theatre’s theatrical discussion group on Saturday, March 14 for a rousing discussion of Hamnet, directed by Chloé Zhao.
Hamnet, a 2025 historical drama based on Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, surrounds the family life of William Shakespeare and his wife Anne Hathaway as they cope with the death of their 11-year old son Hamnet. Set in 16th-century England, the film explores grief, love, and the moment that ‘inspired’ one of Shakespeare’s most well-known plays: Hamlet.
As we discuss the movie in this edition of Off Script, we will also be using the Maggie O’Farrells novel and the play adaption by Lolita Chakrabarti to fuel our dialogue.
Off Script will be joined by KHOL film critic Jeff Counts, who will guide our avid discussion, as we dissect both the movie and the play— exploring its relevance to today’s world. Join us on March 14 in the Center Commons, we hope to see you there!
Participation in Off Script is free. Join the Off Script email list to receive materials and reminders.
